This weekend is our first try... it's a 20 NM trip, our bottom was just cleaned by the diver so we should be able to easily do 5-7 knots. John helped me add 5 gal of diesel yesterday. Low tide at the Verrazano bridge will be at 1:13 this afternoon, so if we can get away by 10:00 AM, we should be able to slip into NY Harbor on the slack water and/or ride the rising tide into the harbor. Then we have plans to overnight at Liberty Landing Marina and do the return trip on Sunday.

Getting Ready for a Big Trip!
A goal that I've had with my sailing (pretty much since last year, but especially after getting Seas The Day) is to sail past the Statue of Liberty in NY Harbor. After Vicky's parents have left, we now have only a few weeks until the season starts getting cold to try and fit this in.
