A Nice Windy Day

Last week I again had some important meetings on Friday delaying our departure until Friday evening and leaving us to drive through some nasty thunderstorms on the way down to Rock Hall.  Once we arrived, we had to wait inside the car and let a particularly strong storm pass.

Even once that was past, we were treated to quite the light show off to the north.

On Saturday, we departed a bit after noon.  The sky looked a bit threatening, but my radar app didn't show any expected rain.  It turned out to be a very fun day... winds were brisk and the sea still had a nice roll to it (not a day for the sea sick folks).   The wind indicator was a bit wonky... showing 10 kts again when it was clearly higher (a fair number of whitecaps and all).

I don't frequently get compliments like this!

When the wind picked up later to what I guess was around 20 knots, We decided to head back for dinner.

And what a dinner!  We had some of Vicky's homemade dumplings in the cockpit.

It looks like hurricane Ida will pass right over Osprey Point, but only after a long trek across land.  I'm not too worried.

Next week is the start of our September vacation!
