Finally, after some weeks of preparation followed by a time of bad weather, I finally made it out on the water with Seas The Day.
April 28 - 30
One special note for Friday night, we had purchased tickets to Delaware Symphony's Beethoven 8th and 9th concert for Friday evening, but with Vicky visiting Baba in China, we had to figure out what to do. She ended up giving her ticket to Eliana (our neighbor) who had her first symphony experience!

The rest of that weekend was way too cold to even think about going down to Seas The Day.

Braised Short Ribs |
Vicky was away, so I HAD to get the bread pudding! |
After dinner, I walked around and enjoyed the beautiful evening. There were no winds and Swan Creek was as smooth as glass.
It was quite foggy on Saturday morning so I had to allow some time before the fog burned off before I could head out.
I used the extra time to trace the lines for the new anchor wash down. There must have been some communication mis-hap... we thought they were going to tie into one of the sink drains to pull seawater from under the boat, but I finally found a new through-hull installed under the forward berth.
With all that completed and the fog gone, I headed out for a wonderful few hours of a shake down sail. Everything seemed to be working fine and it was FUN!!!
I captured a few photos of Sol Searcher out with a customer.
It was a great day. After I returned, I battened down Seas The Day to sit in her berth for a few weeks, and headed home Saturday night. Sunday was needed to prepare... I am heading to Seattle for a business trip followed by a couple of weeks in China to visit Baba and then bring Vicky home for John's wedding.
