Two Months Without Sailing

By now, both of my regular readers will have noticed that we have not posted for two months (since the end of August).  Perhaps a bit of an explanation is in order.

When we last left you, we were headed out to vacation….

We spent a week in The Villages in Florida.  This was a “lifestyle” visit aimed at giving us a glimpse of the wonderful lifestyle that awaits us down there (should we decide to go when/if retirement becomes a possibility).  We spent a nice week zipping around in golf cars (sic), dodging a hurricane, checking out the town squares, riding bike, playing golf and catching up with our friends, Susan & Ken.

No, no decisions have been made yet, so it was just a really nice vacation.

After our vacation, we had a Theater Organ weekend where I had the opportunity to play the large Dickinson Kimball instrument in semi-public (mostly other people waiting to play and hear a mini-concert).  This is a quite famous theater organ and it happens to be in a high school theater that is just around the corner from our home.  This opportunity showed me how much more I need to practice, so I’ll spare you those videos.

We did return to Osprey Point every couple of weeks to check on Seas The Day and also to attend their End-of-Season Crabfest.

At the end of September we attended my niece’s wedding.

In October we had plans to do more sailing but each time we popped down to Osprey Point to check on Seas The Day, the weather wasn’t cooperating.  So we added trips to the Delaware Symphony Orchestra and Longwood to fill the month.

Now back to sailing!
