Seas The Day is currently schedule to be "hauled" (I guess that means they're hauling her out of the water) on Oct. 20th. On Saturday, a cold front came through which meant things were a bit unsettled out on the harbor. Today we had some of Vicky's work-friends visiting and wanting to see the boat, BUT... well water temp has dropped 10 degrees in the last week and air temp was in the high 50s or low 60s with a 20+ knot wind.
It was COLD...
As our friends were arriving, the wind online was listed as 25 knots, so we went to Dim Sum at Crown Palace for lunch, allowing the wind to die down a bit. I saw the weather forecast last evening and had stopped at Sears on the way home last night for better windbreaker & fleece jackets. I also was a bit anal about making sure everyone brought along winter coats. Once we got out to the end of the dock, I think people (Rosie and Greg along with BJ this time) were glad they dressed warmly. The launch guy was certainly bundled up well.
So we got out, readied Seas The Day and sailed directly across the bay to Staten Island before turning around and heading back.
Then we retired for some drinks and warmth at KYC's bar and fireplace, then we headed out for some sunset photos before going over to Drew's Bashore Bistro for dinner.
